“Secrets in our DNA” will air tonight, 13 January, 9:00 PM on PBS = KIXE Channel 9 in Redding.  “What can DNA testing companies reveal about our ancestry and health, and at what risk?”

“Some 30 million people have sent their DNA to be analyzed by companies like 23andMe and AncestryDNA. But what happens once the sample is in the hands of testing companies, and how accurate are their results? NOVA explores the power of genetic data to reveal family connections, ancestry, and health risks—and even solve criminal cold cases. But alongside the benefits of these rapidly growing genetic databases are serious unintended consequences.  (Premiered January 13, 2021)”

This is another avenue to learn about the DNA testing companies, the security of your DNA Data and the benefits of having DNA Tested.  Enjoy.

Will try to schedule a ZOOM Shasta DIG meeting for next Wednesday, January 20th.  More to follow.

Welcome to 2021  May it be a productive year, Sans Covid!

Shasta DIG Meets WEDNESDAY September 12

Summer Break Is Over, and we must get back to our Genetic Genealogy!  This has been a busy summer and catastrophic for some.  Our hearts go out to so many that had their home destroyed by the Carr fire (or other fires), including some who follow Shasta DIG.  If there is anything we can do, please ask and we will do our best.

Our meeting will start at 6:00 PM at the Redding Family History Center.  If you have a topic to discuss or need other information, send me an email.

The DNA Kit Sales Continue!  If you need my input send an email.
